I have not updated this journal in about 3 years so I figured it was about time. I have been moving around a lot this past year. First from Chicago to Washington DC and then finally to Upstate NY. Before that I had a wedding, new condo, and lots of corporate mergers keeping me pretty busy. Haven't done much painting at all. Now that my wife and I have settled in our new home in the North East, I've been trying to get into painting again. I've also decided to switch from oils to acrylics. Got tired of waiting days for things to dry and also I get enough toxins in my lungs without breathing turp all day. First attempt at acrylics was god-awful.

Well, I finally got my internet back. I've been offline for about a month now. Damn AT&T screwed us so we decided to switch to Cable. Then we went round and round with Comcast for about a month before they figured out how to hook us up. It took 4 visits from 4 different technicians. You'd think they do this all the time and would know what to do??? Anyway, enough venting. We've got internet now and life is good again. I just submitted a new painting that I finished weeks ago. I'm going to do the next one in that series of 2 and then head back to Murder at Lincoln Station. The time off from the MLs (https://www.deviantart.com/ls) series has done me good I think.

Just got back from Greece last night. :( We had an incredible time and I'll miss it tons. We went to Piraeus, Athens (Acropolis, etc.), Santorini, Milos, and finally Paros. We had a layover in Heathrow before heading back to Chicago and man, was security tight around there. It was well worth the extra couple hours of security checks though. It was the safest I've felt on a plane ever.

There are moments that remind me of Audrey Flack in your work. It walks to the edge of someone like Estes but then reclaims its own voice instead of abandoning itself into the mechanical calculation of classic photorealism.
